Bubbly, sparkly, and full of festive flair, champagne jello shots are a joyful addition to any celebration—especially New Year’s Eve. They rank among the best jello shot ideas because they’re simple to make, elegant to serve, and always a crowd pleaser.
These glamorous jello shots work beautifully for bachelorette parties, weddings, or any gathering where a little sparkle is welcome. Whether your event is casual or more refined, the pale hues, bubbles, and gold accents make them versatile and visually delightful.

Make Ahead Champagne Jello Shots
One of the best features of jello shots is that you can prepare them a day or two in advance and keep them refrigerated until your party. For easy storage, pour the mixture into small plastic cups that come with lids. The lids protect the shots and make transport simple.
A note about garnishes: add sprinkles, edible glitter, or sugar crystals only after the jello has fully set, and preferably just before serving. If you add sprinkles too early they’ll absorb moisture and lose their sparkle. I experimented with adding edible glitter before setting and didn’t get the best results, so I recommend waiting to decorate.

New Year’s Eve Jello Shots
The gold flecks, star sprinkles, and effervescence are very reminiscent of popping champagne at midnight. A batch of champagne jello shots makes a playful and elegant toast as you ring in the new year. Set them out alongside party hats, noise makers, or small props to match your theme.
These jello shots aren’t limited to New Year’s Eve—serve them whenever you have something to celebrate: a promotion, engagement, bridal shower, housewarming, or simply because you want a festive treat. When there’s a reason to cheer, a tray of champagne jello shots fits the bill.
What’s In Champagne Jello Shots
These shots use a handful of straightforward ingredients. Below is an overview of what each item contributes to the finished treat:

- Champagne or Sparkling Wine: Provides the signature flavor and bubbles.
- Sugar: Balances the acidity so the shots aren’t bitter.
- Lemon Juice: Helps the gelatin set with ideal texture and adds brightness.
- Unflavored Gelatin: Use unflavored gelatin for a clean champagne taste.
- Ginger Ale: Adds extra fizz and complements the sparkling wine.
- Decorations: Edible glitter, sugar crystals, or star sprinkles make them festive.

How To Make Non-Alcoholic Champagne Jello Shots
If you prefer a non-alcoholic version, substitute sparkling white grape juice or non-alcoholic sparkling cider for the champagne. These provide the same festive bubble and flavor without alcohol. If you can’t find sparkling grape juice, try a mix of 1 1/2 cups ginger ale and 1/2 cup white grape juice; reduce the sugar to 1/2 tablespoon when using grape juice to avoid overly sweet shots.

Champagne Jello Shots
Equipment
- Plastic shot cups with lids
- Saucepan
Ingredients
- 1 cup Champagne or Sparkling Wine
- 1 tbsp Granulated Sugar
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 2 tbsp Unflavored Gelatin (about 2 envelopes)
- 1 cup Ginger Ale
Instructions
- Place about 20 plastic shot glasses onto a baking sheet and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the champagne, granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Sprinkle the gelatin over the mixture but do not stir; allow it to bloom for 3 minutes.
- Warm the saucepan over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until the gelatin dissolves. Do not let the mixture boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in the ginger ale. Allow the fizzing to subside before pouring the mixture into the plastic cups—using a container with a spout helps. Cover the cups with lids, making sure the liquid does not touch the lid.
- Refrigerate for up to 3 hours, or until fully set.
- Just before serving, top with edible glitter or sprinkles.
