Traeger Brown Sugar Pork Chops combine sweet and smoky flavors in a simple, satisfying dish. Cooking on a pellet grill adds a subtle wood-fired note that elevates the overall flavor.

Brown Sugar Pork Chops

Traeger Brown Sugar Pork Chops elevate everyday pork with a sweet-and-savory sauce that highlights the meat. Brown sugar, garlic, and a splash of apple cider vinegar create a glossy, flavorful glaze while seasoned salt and black pepper enhance the natural pork taste.

If you don’t have a pellet grill or smoker, you can make these on the stovetop and finish in the oven. Sear the chops in a cast iron pan, then follow the same approximate times and temperatures used for the Traeger when transferring to the oven.

Cook to temperature, not time. Times here are estimates—use an instant-read thermometer for best results.

Why You’ll Love This Dish…

  • Savory Meets Sweet: The brown sugar sauce balances savory pork for a pleasing flavor contrast.
  • Smoky Undertones: A pellet grill gives these chops a subtle smokiness that other methods can’t quite match.
  • Versatile: Works for casual weeknights or a special dinner.
  • Easy to Make: Despite its gourmet flavor, the recipe is straightforward and approachable.

How To Make This Recipe

Below is a concise overview of the process. Follow the detailed recipe card while cooking and use a thermometer to check doneness.

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your Traeger to 375°F. Brush chops with olive oil and season with seasoned salt.
  2. Grill the Chops: Place the chops on the grill grates and sear about 5 minutes per side to develop color.
  3. Make the Sauce: While the chops sear, melt butter in a saucepan and whisk in brown sugar, garlic, heavy cream, apple cider vinegar, and black pepper. Simmer until sugar dissolves.
  4. Bake with Sauce: Transfer chops to a grill-safe skillet, pour the sauce over them, reduce grill heat to 300°F, and continue cooking until the internal temperature reaches 140–145°F.
  5. Rest and Serve: Remove chops and let rest 10 minutes before serving so juices redistribute.
