With a beautifully grilled, sticky glazed exterior and a juicy center, this Grilled BBQ Glazed Smoked Sausage is a fast, flavorful addition to any BBQ. Serve alongside baked mac and cheese, roasted potatoes, or a classic Italian pasta salad for a complete meal.

Our grill gets a lot of use all summer long. Most weekends we clean the grates, heat it up and get dinner going. Lately we’ve favored quick grilling recipes that leave more time to relax by the pool, and this one is about as simple as it gets.
Smoked sausage, your favorite BBQ sauce (sweet, spicy, or smoky), and a few minutes on the grill = dinner in minutes.
Ingredients
All you need:
- Smoked sausage links (choose your favorite variety)
- 1 cup of your preferred BBQ sauce (mild, sweet, spicy, or smoky)
- Hot dog or soft bakery buns
- Optional toppings: relish, caramelized onions, shredded cheddar, chopped cooked bacon

Step by step
Start with a clean grill preheated to medium heat. Placing the links directly on the grates gives the sausages nice sear marks and begins to crisp the casing.
As you turn each link, brush it with BBQ sauce. We usually use a mild smoky sauce, but a sweeter or spicier variety works just as well. Continue turning and brushing every minute or so until the sausages are heated through and the sauce has reduced to a shiny, sticky glaze.

As the BBQ sauce cooks on the links, it thickens into a sticky glaze that adds texture and deep flavor to the smoked interior.
Serving suggestions
Place each grilled, glazed sausage in a soft bun, brush on a little extra BBQ sauce if desired, and finish with your favorite toppings—relish, caramelized onions, shredded cheese, or chopped bacon all work beautifully.
That slightly crispy, caramelized exterior gives way to a juicy, hardwood-smoked center—perfect when paired with a cool, creamy macaroni salad or a hearty side of baked beans or mac and cheese.

Whether you serve them with creamy macaroni salad, baked beans, or roasted potatoes, these grilled, glazed smoked sausages are an easy crowd-pleaser at any summer gathering.
