Location:

Located along the Sassagoula River, Port Orleans French Quarter is a compact, relaxed resort a short ride from Walt Disney World’s theme parks. Typical travel times by Disney bus are:

  • Magic Kingdom: about 15–20 minutes
  • EPCOT: about 10–15 minutes
  • Hollywood Studios: about 10–15 minutes
  • Animal Kingdom: about 15–20 minutes

In addition to buses, the resort offers a scenic boat ride along the Sassagoula River to Disney Springs, a pleasant alternative to road transport and a highlight of staying here.

Although the French Quarter is the smallest of Disney’s moderate resorts, it offers a variety of room configurations to suit different party sizes and budgets.

Standard Rooms:

Check‑In at the Resort:

Official check-in begins at 3:00 PM. Guests can use Disney’s mobile check-in through the My Disney Experience app to complete registration ahead of arrival. When a room becomes available you’ll receive a notification and can go directly to your room using your MagicBand or smartphone.

If you arrive early and your room isn’t ready, Bell Services will store your luggage so you can enjoy the parks or the resort immediately.

TRANSPORTATION:

The resort provides frequent bus service to all four parks and Disney Springs. Buses generally begin running about 45 minutes before park opening and continue until roughly an hour after park closing.

One standout option is the Sassagoula River Cruise to Disney Springs, typically operating from mid-morning through the evening. The riverboat offers a relaxing, scenic way to travel to shopping and dining at Disney Springs.

DINING:

The French Quarter does not offer full-service or character dining. Dining is centered on a quick-service location, a lounge with café service, and a pool bar.
